EdgeX Valves And Carbide Seats

  • At SPM™, performance is backed by precision engineering and thorough validation. Our Carbide Seats underwent over 1,000 hours of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate insert and steel stress points, thermal effects, and overall design performance. This process led to 10 optimized design iterations, each field-tested to validate real-world durability.
  • Our valves are designed with lab- and field-validated Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis, ensuring optimized fluid flow and consistent high-performance in demanding applications.
  • To confirm long-term durability, we conducted additional FEA modeling to fine-tune the valve body and identify the ideal urethane design. Our custom Cyclical Sand Tester (CST) was used to evaluate abrasion resistance, toughness, and wear performance across a wide range of known frac media and tungsten carbide grades.
  • Each seat design iteration was rigorously vetted in SPM’s high-pressure loop at 15,000 psi and underwent thermal shock testing from –170°F to 200°F (–112°C to 93°C) to eliminate temperature-related failure modes—ensuring uncompromising reliability in the field.
